False Memories of Wartime Trauma that Never Happened

False memories are a problem which is by no means limited to allegations of childhood sexual abuse. People can deeply believe that they have "recovered" elaborate, convincing, detailed, emotionally intense "memories" of other events which in reality never occurred.
